Together we win, together we fall apart
By: Ivan | June 21st, 2007There isn’t much I can say after watching tonight’s game versus the Houston Dynamo. We didn’t penetrate deep enough to create, we relied too much on the long ball to Galindo, passing was off tonight, and our defenders were caught sleeping. Long story short, we got lazy/over confident/ too reliant on Galindo. Some things that stood out..
Kljestan: I don’t know where his head or hustle was at tonight, his defending of Davis was costly.
Guzan: Great goalie, but he can’t bail us out every time.
Zotinca: He played with heart and hustle, but he committed a very infantile foul in the box.
Perez: Horrible passing/crossing…
Merlin: I’d like to see him start next game. I think he’s hungry for his first MLS goal and tonight, even though he only played around 20 minutes, he was the closest chance to get a single goal after his shot hit the cross bar.
Now with Dynamo’s win, we fall down to 3rd place in the Western conference and will probably fall down to 4th place if Colorado wins. This is moot compared to the over all MLS standings, we’re not getting any closer to the top 4. Remember, the top 4 teams at the end of the season qualify for the SuperLiga tournament. Regardless of our woes, I’ll continue to wear the red and white proudly. =]
