Ante up?
By: Alex | January 18th, 2008Ante Razov might find a new home by the start of the season.
Rumors and rumblings surrounding the draft in Baltimore state that Chivas USA are entertaining the possibility of trading Razov.
Unfortunately I’m not making this up. I’m not really sure what the team will achieve from this move. If the goal is depth, I think you are supposed to have more good players than you had last year, not the same or less.
I’m not really sure how my wife will recover from this move. I’m convinced the only reason she attends the games is a hope that he will take off his shirt again, like the KC game last season. Maybe I will only need one season ticket this year.

Ugh – I knew this was coming. No idea why but I did. He should just go back to Chicago or stay with Chivas. I think I heard a rumor he was maybe thinking – back to New York – but meh. I think he’d do good things for SanHo but I can’t see him getting along with The Management here at all.
Well, we’ll see. Even if he takes off, I think the folks in charge at Chivas are making great player decisions (although the Burpo one confuses me still) so this may not be as bad as we all think.

So what is he worth? A DP slot, another younger striker?

Maybey two semi-veteran players or a some sort of equivalence with allocation money. I doubt anyone is giving up their DP slot after the Chivas fiasco (unfortunately).
Sh*t I dunno – remember when there were rumors Ante was being courted my Tecos? I actually think he’d do well in the FMF for reasons that aren’t entirely clear to me.

I’m sure Cue can get a churro, 2 carne asada tacos, and a 1994 Honoda civic for Razov. Then he’ll try to convince us that we didn’t need him and that he’s always hurt in the playoffs. Plus, he’ll say that that was the best we could get for him. After the smoke clears, we’ll sign some 40-something ex-FMF player who will dazzle us with with his beer gut, footwork, and cancerous attitude for which he’ll quit after the season.
I love all our offseason moves, don’t you guys.
