Bofo and Feilhaber to Chivas USA????
By: Alex | February 15th, 2008Chivas USA may be working on a two for one deal? I doubt it! Some fun stuff to think about over the weekend. This was posted by Jonah Freedman on SI.
“Two names connected to L.A.’s “other” (that’s code for “better”) team might be familiar ones as well. As Soccer America’s Mike Woitalla reported earlier this week, Orange County native and U.S. national-teamer Benny Feilhaber may be loaned back to MLS from his current club, Derby County of the English Premier League, where he’s languishing on the reserves.
Recent reports have Feilhaber heading to the two-time champion Houston Dynamo, but a source tells me there’s an outside chance he could join Chivas USA. That would reunite him with Bornstein, his close friend and ex-teammate on three stops in their respective careers: with the Irvine Strikers youth club, in college at UCLA and now, with the U.S. national team.
Another name that has resurfaced recently is immensely popular former Chivas de Guadalajara icon and Mexican national-teamer Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista. With his bleach-blonde hair and white headwrap, Bofo may look like an escaped mental patient, but he’d be a solid addition to any team’s front line. There were similar murmurs last season of bringing him in before Guadalajara shipped off him to Mexican club Jaguares de Chiapas.”

Benny & Sacha together again at the club level? Is it possible for me to love Chivas even more than I do now? Wait… lemmie check. Yup, Benny to Chivas would be like birthday/valentines/christmas presents all rolled into one.
Benny *should* help SanHo in a big way but if he’s with Chivas then the goats will officially become the team everyone wishes they could hang out with (or maybey thats just me).

I just checked in here to see if you’d seen this article. I would love to see Feilhaber at Chivas, if only for one season.

I think I want them both. It won’t happen, but this is my ideal line up.

Alex, that’s a great line-up and one I’m sure would win MLS Cup handedly, but I think the other 13 teams in MLS would be rather upset with them fielding a 12 man side.
I’d say move Thomas to the bench/bring him in when Suarez runs out of gas, and you’ve still got a great team.Posted from

A loan deal from Derby County could be worked out to a nominal cap hit salary # that does not require the DP spot but I severely doubt that you could get that sort of deal worked out for Bofo. It would take some league shenanigans to get Benny to work.
If a deal for a DP goes down either deal looks more likely. Teams with a tradable DP slot: San Jose, RSL, Dallas, Houston, KC, Columbus, Toronto, DC???? (can we re-trade our two year spot from Colorado) & New England. The price could be steep.

I think Chivas USA is actually better than Derby County. Les we forget that Wicky and Feilhaber were teammates at SV Hamburg, Bornstein was his college and club teammate, and has close ties to Sacha (Orange County).
Feilhaber would fit the 4-4-2 or the 4-3-3 system. Bofo? He can fit in anywhere….if he wants to.

Can anybody shine any light on a possible addition of Omar Bravo when the mexican league ends?

Feilhaber to San Jose is more likely than to the goats. Goats have a full roster, and San Jose has room for Feilhaber.
Omar to the goats will never happen, he will stay in Mexico or end up playing in Europe, most likely Spain.
