Bonjour
By: Richard | May 10th, 2009Must apologize for being a little slow with the posts this past fortnight. I’ve been hopping around Europe, dragging my girlfriend to various football locales;
Sight of England 5 – Germany 1…Check
Stamford Bridge…Check
Bundesliga 2 game…Check
Tranining ground of Czech National Team…umm Check
Let’s just say I’ve visited plenty of cathedrals to pay pennance, to my girlfriend.
I have managed to keep up with the Chivas, and could not be more thrilled by the following;
1) The ability of Nagamura to play in such a fine holding position, while also scoring goals.
2) The quality short passes that have become the signature of our game.
3) The fact that we have an 8 POINT LEAD on Seattle!!!
Unbelievable!!
I look forward to attending the DC game on the 16th, and would love to hear your opinions on our continuing surge.
Viva Chivas!!!

Chivas is running away with the league, though hopefully they can sustain it at the end of the season as well…

So far the rookies and bench veterans have contributed and make me believe we have the depth to be competitive in SuperLiga, Open Cup, and the League.

I caught the RSL game up through the goal, and I spent the whole time thinking, “What the hell do teams have to do to stop these guys?” You’re that good this year. Hats off.

I have to admit I’m pleasantly shocked Chivas are doing so well. But the jury’s still out on Lillingston. Me and one of the security guys at Buck Shaw were hating on that guy during the San Jose game (we were in the Union Ultras section and I totally turned that security dude into a Chivas fan – woohoo!). And seeing Galindo coming back is fucking awesome. Now they just need to wheel Razov out and make sure he doesn’t stub a toe and the Cup/Supporters Shield is finally ours.

Man I am thrilled. I adopted Chivas three years ago and have always loved their style of play and what Preki can do with a team. The injuries are what kills me. Two things to add to all the great stuff said.
1. I was soooooo wrong last year about Thornton. I thought he was more of a linebacker than a goalie and an awkward one at that. He has STEPPED it up and is having an incredible year. Hats off to his effort.
2. Our defense is really great. I love the work that Talley is putting in. I mean, imagine, we had a pretty sucky defense last year, lost some guys filled some in. Johnny Bornstein is playing better this year too!
Its the defense that is really kicking ass…not that the offense is not on its game or anything (smile).
I agree. Imagine the threat of Razov, Escandarian, and Galindo….crazy to think about.
