Brad Abroad

By: Alex | November 28th, 2007

Brad Guzan is currently overseas in Spain participating in a Generation Adidas tournament. He and the rest of the squad will be competing against the Real Madrid reserve team tomorrow.

On the Chivas USA show, he talked about being at the Champions League Arsenal-Sevilla game and how fun it was. I can only imagine the thoughts running through his head.

El Guzano, please come back to the Chivas USA next year. The team needs your help to lift the MLS Cup.

I am very confused about Burpo jumping ship if Brad’s assurances he’s staying at least one more season isn’t totally locked down.

On a side note, did you see the list of who got waived?

CHIVAS: David Arvizu, Desmond Brooks, Carlos Llamosa, Rodrigo Lopez, Laurent Merlin, Justin Myers, Ramon Nunez, Orlando Perez, Eder Robles, Erasmo Solorzano

I get a sense of spring (err, winter) cleaning out of some of these recent moves and rumors.

Isn’t Meyers our 3rd (now 2nd) string goalie behind Guzan? What’s the deal with the waiver list?? Does that mean we are not renewing their contracts for this year?

I know that Merlin is not the best finisher, but WTF?????

The same with Nunez??? Does his Attacking Midfield play not fit the Chivas system???? Does he want more money that we need to spend elsewhere?

And why isn’t Guevara’s name on the list? We need to officially lose that guy to someone else?

Good point about Guevara – my impression with the waiver draft is its a last chance for the players and the club doesn’t get any compensation. Do Chivas think he still has trade potential?

Guevara – he is a quality player, but just didn’t fit into the system that we run.

My man (bottom of the totem pole) at the club told me…

Guzan will be staying, unless something drastically changes…and Merlin and Nunez were only placed on the Expansion Draft waiver list…but the draft is over and they weren’t picked.

I don’t know what the deal is with the list. In Preki I trust…. but this is a serious gamble.

The list is on a blog 100% Soccer, but it didn’t give a list of who was picked.
