Burpo to Quakes
By: Alex | November 26th, 2007Chivas USA traded Preston Burpo to the San Jose Earthquakes for a fourth round draft pick. Check it out.
WOW. Looking from the outside, this appears to be… not so good. Preston is a quality keeper that is worthy of first team football in any team and maybe any league. So why would Chivas USA give this up between the interest overseas for Brad and National Team call ups?
Nothing officially was said, but I’m guessing Burpo was looking for the first team. He’s 35 years old and been sitting on the bench for the better part of two seasons. So, to that, I say good luck to Preston.
Oh… Preston, when we play you next season, please try not to break Galindo’s nose again. I heard it really hurt.

Burpo is a quality goalie. We should have gotten a better draft pick than that. I guess this means Guzan will still be with us next year.

Getting rid of burpo lowers your club’s asshole quotient significantly. Kudos to Chivas USA for ridding themselves of this human skidmark.

Lucas isn’t too far off. I met him at the Season Ticket holder party. I asked him for an autograph and tried to tell him I thought he did a great job last year, and he grunted at me. I thought that was weird!!!
But we still should have gotten a higher draft pick for him. He’s worth at least 2nd round.
