Chivas USA give away another draft pick
By: Alex | December 19th, 2007It is my belief that Chivas USA intend to give away every possible draft pick it get’s it’s hands on. Why …. I don’t know.
Chivas trade a 3rd round draft pick for RSL’s Harris.
The Red and White have scored with previous draft picks, including Brad Guzan, Sacha Kljestan, and Jonathan Bornstein. However, this year the priorities are not there.
Chivas intends on acquiring depth, especially up front. I’ll admit that I didn’t follow RSL too much last year, so if there are any RSL fans out there, let me know what to expect.

So heres to Harris. CHEERS!

He did not do much last year according to the RSL website, but I think we should just give the guy a clean slate. He is the youngest player from his country to get signed in Europe and the first to sign in MLS. This will be his breakout year!!! You read it here first!

Damn, they got it from you. Complicated side effect of how the Adu trade sorted out RSL owed DC a third round pick but they lost their natural one due to some deal with Dallas over Kreis retiring so they needed to get one somehow. Hoping they could get one higher.
On Attiba- from what I’ve read from the RSL people his touch is very raw and he has a tendancy to get red cards. He has spent time at both forward and d-mid and I’m not sure which is his best.

He is great in the air, and I thought he was making some promising strides to becoming a great player in the league. But, like the previous post, his touch is raw and he plays wreckless at times. I haven’t seen him play forward for quite some time. But, the most part of 2006, he was playing Forward. I think he fits D-Mid pretty well. He really breaks up attacks, and it really helped us when he could come in off the bench and win some of those headers in the middle that we seem to always lose. Now with Marsch and Harris, you guys will have the red-carded tandem.
. Good Luck to Harris, I wish RSL would have kept him, but Kreis and Lagerway keep saying they are about to make some offers on international players. So, it opened up a Int’l slot for us.Posted from

Alex,
New thread…..
Can someone explain the qualifications for Superliga vs. the CONCACAF Champions League? Will MLS screw this up by overplaying the best teams, or will they get their act together and stagger them, providing more teams with additional revenue? For example…
Will the 1-2 (or 1-4th) MLS regular season winners play in the CONCACAF, while the next set 3-4 (or 5-8th?) play in Superliga? Of course the FMF would have to match!?!And please, someone from CONCACAF, make the Galaxy earn their place in this tournament instead of giving them a chance to earn enough money to pay Becks!! (Don’t be like the Pinchy PanPac joke tournament!) And while I am complaining about something that hasn’t even been announced yet – it better be home/away for every leg of the tournament, including the group stages.
And for Pete’s sake, neither the Superliga nor the CONCACAF Champions League should allow qualification based on end of the year tournaments that only prove that a team can be HOT for 4 games.
Let’s all look toward Europe and follow the system that works. Of course, now that crack about the MLS cup being a criteria is a little off base considering UEFA Cup allows the winner of FA cup as an entry. Say la vie!
