Chivas USA host the Wizards
By: Alex | September 26th, 2008Kansas City travel to the HDC to take on the Chivas USA.
First question (as always this season) is who is healthy for the match?
Zack Thornton, Lawson Vaughn, Raphael Wicky, and Eric Ebert are all out. Maykel Galindo may make it to the bench. Jonathan Bornstein, Carey Talley, and Paulo Nagamura all suffered individual light injuries, nothing to serious, but may have limited participation in this game. Alex Zotinca is on a steady path to returning to full fitness.
Assuming all of those guys are out the line up could look something like this;
—-Eskandarian—–Razov——
Flores-Victorine-Marsch-Kljestan-
Mendoza-Curtin-Thomas-Zotinca
———-Kennedy
I’m guessing Talley or Bornstein will play, which will change the line up significantly. Additionally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Suarez get the nod before Curtin. Dejair could potentially play, as his permits have been secured.
The only notable player missing from Kansas City (besides Victorine) would be Davy Arnaud, due to yellow card accumulation.
The Official Chivas USA blog has a clip of Preki discussing how the injuries have affected the team and the playoff push. Listen Here.
From here on out, the team will have to rely on Alecko Eskandarian as their goal scorer. His ability to link up with Razov is key. Hopefully Kljestan can place his mark on the field this game.
I’m not going to call this a must win game, but it will make things easier if we did. I do think the available team has the ability to win.

Davy Arnaud isn’t suspended, it’s Jack Jewsbury who is suspended.
