I think Braun did a fantastic job as a "target forward." He won balls in the air, held his defender back, and held possession until someone made a run. I think as he gains a better understanding of how to lead Galindo & Harris with "thru balls, flick-ons, etc," he can really create a different aspect to the offense.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 1-touch play in the midfield that allows the striker to make a diagonal run toward goal, but being able to receive a ball to the deep wing and then cross onto a sprinting striker is also an important asset.

Braun played that role well! I think he and Harris should be the starting strikers for the OPEN CUP games.

Galindo & Harris (with a healthy Wicky) or Galindo and Razov with Sasha in midfield should start all the Superliga games.

Aleko and the other strikers can be rotated into the line up for the league games that are in close proximity to the tournaments

Dilla I agree with you in regards to Marsch and Chiles. Now going to Braun, I think he did a lot better than Panchito on the left flank. He was leaving defenders behind and they had to resort to holding onto him. He might not be as experienced as Panchito, but he played a great match for being an undrafted/unknown rookie. We do need Kljestan, but Panchito can sit out this coming match in my opinion.

Guzano
Law-Suarez-Thomas-Johnny B
Sacha-Nags-Marsch-Braun/Wicky
Golindo-Razov

Panchito is my third choice!

fairly accurate for the most part, but there's also so much i disagree with:
- marsch played a HORRIBLE game and i think he'd be the first to tell you that. his passes were consistently innacurate and just looked LOST.
- chiles was far from being non-existant. in my eyes, he was man of the match.

Probably asthma or something. He seemed to be hyperventilating. Maybe he was just excited at his first starting role.

(I'm running privoxy... what country will The Offside say I'm coming from now?)

Oh man. This game was tough to watch. I did think Chiles did alright and I liked Braun as a striker - he really battled for the ball up there. He seemed to not do as well when he fell into the midfield. Unfortunately, he did, uh, give up at the one moment he had a great opportunity to score. I don't know why.
