Chivas vs Crew Preview
By: Richard | April 5th, 2009With kickoff an hour away, Chivas USA are chasing their 3rd straight win in so many games. Although they are off to the franchise’s best start in history, it would be hard to deny that this afternoon’s game poses the first real threat to Coach Preki and his eclectic squad. Coming off a convincing, if not dominating, 2-0 victory last Sunday in Dallas, Chivas will welcome USA teammates Jonathan Bornstein and Sacha Kljestan back into their squad to face the defending MLS Cup winners. Bornstein and fellow backs; Shavar Thomas, Carey Talley and Mariano Trujillo will have to contend with Argentinean Guillermo Barros Schelotto. Scholetto led the league in assists last year and has already knocked in two goals in this years campaign. Look for Preki’s men to play very tight in the backfield as well as on set pieces, for which Columbus are becoming increasingly dangerous. On paper, this game proves near impossible to predict, with the final word most-likely being dictated by the most cliche of all football cliches…Team Chemistry. One thing is for certain; if Chivas come away with a win this evening, by the time they meet the Galaxy next week, the biggest story may not be the absence of a certain superstar on the pitch, but the football being played on it.

Welcome to the Chivas blog, Richard! Looks like it’s just you and us at the top right now.
I’m enjoying the view. How ’bout you?

Whut up Chivas blogger! There’s been so much turnover since the last time this blog was manned, I don’t recognize the team anymore. Anyhoo – watched this game for a bit. The goats looked pretty good.
