DC United match up with Chivas USA at the HDC

As the clock gets closer to the game of the week, each team is preparing for important points in their respective conference. Besides the potentially spectacular show of two clubs that play like a team, pay attention to the battles that will occur on the field that will result in points.

Battle of the midfield: Our midfield general Jesse Marsh will battle with playmaker Christian Gomez for dominance on the pitch. This may be the battle that determines the outcome of this match. These two have met several times before.

DCs Strike Force: Luciano Emilio will try to penetrate the back four. Look for a combination of Bornstein’s speed and Suarez’s knowledge to tag team this lethal striker.

The Stealthy Cuban: Look for intelligent play from Ante Razov to meet Maykel Galindo’s speed. This team effort will be required in order to brake the defense full of experience.

The men between the sticks: Who is the better keeper? Your guess is as good as mine. Brad Guzan has been strong all season, but since he returned from Copa America, he has added confidence and keeps coming up big for the club. Can Perkins keep his form?

Chivas USA will need to contain a team with talent all over the field. We should expect shots from all over the field, a strong defense and world class goal keeping. Both teams play a quality style of football, both will try to hold the ball and control the midfield. Look for a late injection of quality play with the insertion of Ramon Nunez.

My prediction……. 2-1 in favor of the Red and White.
