Goal Keeper Position Filled.

By: Alex | April 10th, 2008

Chivas USA announced today the acquisition of goalkeeper Dan Kennedy from Chilean club Municipal Iquique.

A little sample…

Is Brad is leaving this summer? Can Kennedy fill his shoes?

Chilean Soccer is highly underrated. I am sure he will be more than a servicable replacement for Guzan (though Brad is one of a kind – best keeper in the league)

Just found this website. Great stuff on Dan, the guy’s a stud. Not saying Guzan won’t be missed. But he’ll be a fine replacement

To be honest his college pedigree was more celebrated than Guzans’ time at the college level. His time in the USL and Chile was also stellar. He won the Goalkeeper of the year in the USL with Puerto Rico and he had the lowest GAA in the Chilean league. He has excelled at every level. He’s also capped tied to Puerto Rico!

    Welcome Gauchofan!

Cap tied … The Chivas USA have not done historically well in the open cup as is. either way, the kid sounds like a great addition.

Does this move put the nail in Brad’s coffin?

Should he start soon, and learn how to work with our defense? (I would hate to bench Brad)

Who are we getting in Summer?

Thanks Alex! No reason to rush Dan’s entrance. This is perfect for Chivas. Dan get’s to know the team for a few months. So if Brad leaves should be seemless transition.
