Horrible First Half, What was Preki Thinking? ===> Second Half Updates/ Semi-Liveblogging/ Post-Game Analysis (3-1)

1st Half: That was some very unorganized, unemotional play reminiscent of the second half against Houston. If this is how we play against teams that show a little bit of pressure, than how do we expect to succeed this season. And I am sorry, but one player does not make or break a team and the loss of Kljestan should not be this detrimental. Kljestan was good, but he was not the entire midfield.

I put a lot of the blame on Preki. What is Zotinca doing in the midfield? Like I was saying Bornstein should have been put in the midfield and he has proven it during this game as he is the only player that has made any offensive production. Zotinca needs to either move back or sit down. And where the hell is Guevara? Once again he has proven to be a waste, making horrible passes and wild shots. This was the game that Guevara needed to step up and he has continued his pathetic form.

Preki needs to go in and scream his team to start playing or bench some of his players. This was a very pathetic first half.

Post Game Analysis: What looked like a strong start ended up in more disappointment. The team was looking solid as they made a strong push against the gals, but following their first goal the offense started to lax. There was no urgency in Chivas following the goal and it showed when the gals scored. The subs were a good move, but it would seem that this should have been the starting line up from the beginning. Guevara once again proved to be a bust and the management needs to rethink their trade. Maybe it would be beneficial to bench Guevara for the next game against DC, forcing him to decide if he wants to play soccer or not. At this moment, Guevara seems to not want to play and is proving to be a burden on the team. Zotinca was a mistake in the midfield and Hernandez proved to be a very big hole in the defense.

It is time to go back to the drawing boards and re-do the line-up. Preki has proven to be a disappointment as he did not prepare his team for today’s game nor did he prepare them to play without Kljestan. The thing is, one player does not make the entire team, especially a young player who is starting to grow. We made a really bad galaxy team look good. That is two games where Chivas has buckled under pressure. More to come tomorrow.

2nd half Liveblogging

Update: Laurent Merlin Put in at the beginning of the Second Half, replacing Hernandez. It is good to see Preki making a change. We shall see what happens.

Update #2 48:09: Well so far the team looks pretty good, solid defence and pressing offence. If they do not break down on defense we might still have a chance to win or at least tie this. It would seem that Preki gave the team a good yelling at to produce.

50:00: Awesome banner that the Legion unfurllled. So much for this being a Galaxy home game, the Legion is proving to be the agressor iin the stands. They are out in full force and will be one of the keys to the turn around.

51:00: Nice defense by Bornstein. He has been proving to be an asset as he looks to be coming back from his injury quite well.

52:25: Merlin makes his first push up to the net and hits a low, short shot. If he gets open he will prove to be a very potent forward.

53:30: Beautiful strike by Galindo as he hits it from over 30 yards. Though he is blocked, Galindo is able to get back onto the ball and try again. What speed.

55:54: Well Guevara is finally taken off the field. He has done nothing this entire game and is continuing his unimpressive play. Cunliffe replaces Guevara.

58:30: The team is looking a lot better than the first half, pressing more and holding on defense. Though there is still a lot to be played, Chivas will need to make a push to score.

61:00: Where is the crowd? It sounds like a graveyard as both sides are not doing anything. Either they are completely bored or they have just lost interest. But this should be creating a trememndous amount of interest, as this half has been far more interesting than the first one.

62:22: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suarez scores on a very messy corner kick. We are still in the game, as Chivas is looking good.

64:00: Galindo is now out, as Matt Taylor is subbed in. That is Chivas final sub. Interesting move, but Taylor has proven himself sometimes. What he will provide is some much needed energy.

67:00: For once the announcers are right, Preki did the right thing in making the subs, but it was a hard move. Some managers do not want to do it and Preki did. So far it has worked but, they are still down one goal.

68:00: That was really close. chivas needs to work on protecting the Corners, they are lucky not to have been scored on.

70:00: Great save by Guzan, but horrible coverage by the TV as we completely missed it. And once again, Donovan is proving to be a wimp as he lays on the ground like a cry baby.

72:00: Now is the time to start getting a little worried, as the time is slowly winding down. Chivas is still down a goal and will need at least one more to equalize this.

74:00: Another close shot that should have been a goal. This is more like the offense we have been used to. Chivas needs to continue their presssure on Galaxy. We still have a problem with our corners.

76:24: So many missed calls as the refs seemingly turn the other way. One good thing to note, it would seem that the gals love to act as albright flopped onto the ground.

78:00: Well Marsh screwed up with a horrible pass leading to another gals score. The defense was non-existant. What was I saying, they were waiting around and needed to push harder to tie this game. Chivas was sitting there thinking all they had to do was pass the ball and they could win it.

80:00: Guevara has been taken out of the stadium, words must have been exchanged leading to his removal.

81:47: It would seem the life has been taken out of Chivas. Though this game would seem to be out of reach, miracles are possible and Chivas has a few offensive options that could turn this game around.

83:48: That was the first time I saw Razov show some anger. He has been laughing all game and it is about time he is starting to realize the coming loss.

85:12: Another hard strike by Bornstein, who hits a rocket off of a corner. Though it missed, Bornstein has continued to proven to be the most aggresive player on the team. Preki is going to have to re-evaluate and think about putting Bornstein into the midfield.

90:00: This game is over. What a disapointment.

The game wasn’t as one-sided as the score indicated. Chivas had me squeezing my rubber “stress ball” right up until the final whistle. Second half especially was very tense, at least up until the Cobi Jones goal. Fortunately for us Landon Donovan and Joe Cannon were both having good days

The game was a mess no matter which way you looked at it…neither team looked good; Chivas was just in worse condition.
