No News is Good News?

By: Alex | January 16th, 2008

No news is good news.

Preki has resigned with the team and hopefully given a raise.

Other than that, it has been quiet over at camp Chivas. Many fans have been waiting for that big signing. Is it going to come this year?

Anybody know anything about this Bobby Burling kid?
    Anybody seen him play?

I’ve heard of Hamilton, and I’ve seen Flores’s short 12 minutes of MLS (and read about his 1 goal 1 assist with the U-20 US team in Argentina), but I have no clue about Bobby B.

Burling’s been on the practivce squad and dressed last year. He’s 6′5” and plays central defense. He’s originally from Colorado. He played in the Chivas vs. Chivas USA game. He showed some skill but looked overmatched against the Mexicans. He’s got size, but I’m not sure about overall defensive skills. A big question mark, literally and figuratively.

No, I am not his agent.

Maybe they are grooming him for next year when Claudio leaves?

I saw “Preki has resigned” and my heart gave a little skip. Then I realized it was “resigned WITH,” not “resigned FROM.”

    Prepositions are everything.

Bobby Burling was drafted by LA last year but didn’t make the cut. Chivas picked him up, along with Laurent Merlin.
