Rumor Alert!! A Possible Trade with the Wizards for DP Slot

By: David | April 13th, 2007

You heard it right, we have our second rumor. Well it is more of an expansion of the first rumor dealing with the possibility of Chivas signing a big name player. Ranka from bigsoccer.com, is claiming that he heard on ESPN Deportes Radio of a possible trade between the Kansas City Wizards and Chivas for a DP slot. This would be an interesting move.

Though only a rumor, it would seem that the idea of a trade is possible. Chivas is in need of a big name talent to help draw in more fans and increase attendance. This also would help Chivas expand their brand throughout the country and bring more legitimacy the team. Who they would sign is going to be the problem, as Chivas is overloaded in the forward and midfield positions.

More to come as I look into this matter.

Do you think it would be a player from Chivas or the Mexican league?

I do not think it would be anyone from Chivas, unless they were able to convince Omar Bravo to move, which would be an interesting addition to the team. Though we are very loaded on forwards, having a power like Bravo up front with Razov would be quite dangerous. I like Galindo, but would rather see an established talent up front, until Galindo has made a complete transition. This is a definite stretch as I do not think Bravo would move. Another possible addition could be Adolfo Bautista, but I really do not see Guadalajara separating with one of their best strikers.

You must remember that the big weakness for the team is the defense. Our midfield is very strong, and our front is fast. So who else could we go for? The other thing to look at would be, is this going to be for name recognition or to help the squad?
