Rumor Time- Major Signing in Chivas’ Future?
By: David | April 7th, 2007This is a first for the Chivas USA blog at the Offside, we have a possible rumor to announce. First noted by a poster on bigsoccer, it would seem that a “huge” signing is in Chivas’ future. This comes from an article on ESPN Deportes, detailing a comment by Jorge Vergara in regards to the Becks and Blanco signing.
So are we going to be seeing a huge signing to add to the already growing squad? It is possible, as Chivas needs to grow its influence and media exposure while at the same time bolster the roster. Now I know there would be some doubt, as Chivas traded its DP for Amado Guevara, however, that should not stop the Vergara from purchasing a “huge” player. Do not forget, the owner of Chivas has huge pockets and could potentially spend a lot of money (both on transfer and penalty) to bring in talent. The penalty should not be seen as a hindrance, as numerous teams in other leagues will go over the cap space so as to create a solid team.
Though only a rumor, you never know what can happen.
