Super Saturday Follow Up
By: Alex | March 16th, 2008Some follow up notes from practice…
Prior to the official scrimmage, the first team trained on a small field 6 a side. The team looked good, quick and sharp. Preki played with the squad, serving some very tasty crosses. Brad Guzan was there for the practice cheering on the team from the sidelines. Both Sam Reynolds and Lance Parker trained. The scrimmage included Suarez, Vaughn, Harris, Galindo, Nagamura, Marsch, Bornstien, Thomas, Mendoza and new signing Keith Savage. Pic below, Brad watches from the sidelines cheering the team on.

Jonathan Bornstien trained the whole session. After the match he had a little ice on his ankle, precautionary follow up from the surgery. He expects to soon be at 100 percent. Although I didn’t see him, Wicky has recovered from surgery as well. Alecko has been dealing with a few injuries, but should ready soon. Maykel was also in the mix, playing very well. It appeared his surgery is healing OK as well.
Pic below shows a few Ultras hanging out with Jonny B and Lawson Vaughn.

The Union Ultras were represented during the training and festivities. The supporters group will be traveling up to Fresno to watch them take on the Fuego.
Match preview here.
Tonights game should tell us how the team stands. The first team should be playing, and the match will be competitive. I’ll track down some write-ups and post them up.
