Thursday’s Throwdown

By: Alex | March 20th, 2008

The season is coming on fast. Don’t blink, you might miss it. No fear, your full fledge ChivaUpdate is here.

Brad Guzan is doing great and getting set for the start of the season.

Alex Zotinca is not

Chivas USA to sign a DP mid season? Sure. Big name Mexican? Maybe not. Look for a popular FMF player, but maybe not a popular Mexican. A midseason acquisition of a DP who has “excelled in the Mexican league” – although not necessarily a Mexican – is likely, Hunter said.

Chivas USA launched a team blog. Stop by.

Lastly, Sacha may be the most peaceful Chivas USA player, but he is also representing the national team. Great job Sacha.

More when I get it.

Congratulations Sacha! And thank god Guzan is back. Both those guys are gonna blow up (I guess Guzan already blew up) this year and get offered phat Euro contracts. That is my Chivas USA 2008 season preview.

My guesses for non-mexicans that have had success in Mexican league are:

    Daniel Luduena
    Leandro Augusto
    Bruno Marioni
    Richard Nunez
    Salvador Cabanas
    Hugo Rodallega
    Christian Gimenez
    Matias Vuoso
    Paulo Da Silva
    Sebastian Gonzalez

Who I would like to see here:
    Christian Gimenez
    Daniel Luduena
    Richard nunez

Michoacano, that is an excellent assessment. It looks like that 18th senior roster spot may have a reason.

M-1, nice list. Too bad its a waste. Sorry. We ain’t gettin’ nobody. At most we’ll get Pony Ruiz.

My skepticism is my strength against anythin that this team does on the player personel front.
