Trade Updates, What to expect and What is going On (Zidane Where are You?) => More info in Comments Section!
By: David | April 17th, 2007So far only two major trades have been made, that of Angel and Schelotto. At one point Chivas had been linked to Schelotto and the Crew’s DP slot, but as we have seen that has fallen through. More than anything this has become a guessing game, as people are trying to find out what is going on. For the first time we are seeing massive interest in the proceedings of the MLS, which is proving to be quite good for everyone.
Yet, where does this leave us? Thus far:
Juan Pablo Angel (New York Red Bulls)
David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy
Blanco (Chicago Fire)
Roberto Brown (Colorado Rapids)
Luciano Emilio (D.C. United)
Fred (D.C. United)
Carlos Marinelli (Kansas City Wizards)
Claudio Reyna (New York Red Bulls)
Carl Robinson (Toronto FC)
Guillermo Barros Schelotto (Columbus Crew)
Have been signed, as noted by the MLS Underground. Chivas on the other hand has not made any move and that brings into question what exactly is going on. As I have noted, Chivas is interested in singing Zidane and will fight to get him. Do not forget though, Cue had stated that he will make an effort to sign him in July if nothing happens this week.
So what does this mean? More speculation and more guessing as everyone tries to determine what is going on. For all you know, Cue is waiting for the Angel and Schelotto news to quite down so that he can command the media and gain more interest.

You know why there is NO WAY Zidane will come to Chivas? Because I have a much better collection of Zidane photos stored on my hard drive for when he comes to GALAXY. And that should settle it.

coming into the season, i didnt expect Chivas to make any moves (considering they traded away their DP slot). so ill be surprised with anything.
and if its zizou, ill jump out the window. maybe even light myself on fire.

Update:
I spoke with the FO and not much is known, well at least for the guys on the floor, the upper management (mainly Cue) it is another story. Remember that the deal will most likely happen in July, so we should be hearing more in the coming weeks.
Update #2:
This is more of a thought, but I think someone on Bigsoccer brought up a good point, Cue might be using this as a media ploy. In fact, Ives Galarcep, in an email convo stated this too and really feels that the Zidane trade is not “true.”
Well in my opinion I think Cue will be using this as a way in which to get Chivas name out there and I still think that this is a possibility. Vergara has a lot of money and Zidane has the name.
I must remind you all, that Nedved and Figo are also being looked at.

You guys aren’t going to get Zidane. And as much as I would like to see him in a Galaxy jersey (which is more likely to happen than him going to you guys), that isn’t going to happen either.
