Chivas USA have historically depended upon talent from the parent club for it’s roster. However, this trend is progressively reducing to the point of non-existence.

This is most evident in the young talent Pancho Mendoza who came from the youth program south of the border. However, there has been several others. Ramon Ramirez came north of the border the inaugural year. Martin Zuniga also made the trek, but both had a short career in the states and retired shortly after coming here. Other reserves have made appearances such as Jesus Morales, who played a few games in the 2006 campaign.

However, the club made an important transaction that fell under the radar last season. Carlos Borja left Chivas USA for Guadalajara. The American born has Mexican parents and is currently playing with Tapatio, their 2nd division team. Borja is making an impact and may be with the first team shortly.

What does this mean for Chivas USA? Well, I think we may be seeing a change in the FO.

Should Chivas USA go after Mexican players? Does it matter where good players come from? Let me know.

I don’t care where they come from. Chivas de Guad can send their kids from the Tapatio Team to start their trade with us if they are talented. Let’s be realistic, the Tapatio team isn’t going to be promoted to the FMF, so why not send their top notch players to CDCUSA to play 1st division ball.

I agree with PK! Send one or two of the top guys in Tapatio this way. Even if we are bringing up our own youth through our academies, we can use Tapatio while ours get more stabalized. Once Chivas China is born, we can bring some of them over here as well.

Now how much does Vergara put into Chivas USA? We need to start using these foreign players to are advantage by helping the youth.

Does Oscar De La Hoya hate Chivas???

I have to ask, because he is investing in Houston Dynamo. So does a guy that opens a boxing gym in East LA really think its a smart move to split his fan base amongst Mexican-Americans by becoming part of the owner’s group for Houston?

Maybe dressing up in women’s clothes has impaired his judgment? Oscar, let me provide you with the train of thought…

Houston Dynamo play against Chivas USA. Chivas USA is partially owned by its parent company - Chivas de Guadalajara. So that means you are either Pro-Club America, or a fan of another FMF team (which means you are anti-Chivas).

Either way, next time you step into the ring, I am going to be rooting for you to get knocked out!!!

    Whose with me?!?

    GO CHIVAS USA

It’s called diversification. A great example of this is all the babies he has to pay child support to. If I’m not mistaken he has about 3-4 kids from different moms.

What a role model. Then again, he may be smarter than Cue.

I think it’s a smart move by Oscar. He has the fans in LA, so he is getting the ones from Houston. Plus I don’t think Vergara, Cue, and Hunter would have sold any part of their ownership. No doubt that Oscar would have helped with his marketing abilities.

Why do non-soccer fans go to Galaxy games? To see Victoria Beckham and her movie star friends.

If Vergara, Cue, and Hunter should have sold some of their shares to Oscar with the stipulation that he purchases a VIP box and attends every home game, and 1/2 the away games.

Then we have Oscar fans, and his friends, showing up - which would bring more fans to the games, etc……

Am I the only person to read The Prince, by Nicolo Machiavelli????

Hey Hunter, time to start comp-ing big time hispanic TV stars and movie stars some free tickets to the game. Work in some tie-ins on the score board!!! Give them some free advertising for a couple of hours at the game. When is the next CD dropping? Who’s got a movie coming out? It has to be more than just a 10-sec message from Chivas Guad players, or TV personalities.

Just like the Godfather and Vegas. It’s time to get some of your Hollywood friends to agree to appear!
